THE RULES ,

REGISTERING AND SUCH ,
You must be over the age of 13 to be apart of this board, as per the Proboards TOS. PLEASE, REGISTER WITH A SIMPLE ENOUGH USERNAME. Don't give us something crazy like "omgyougaizrawklolzzzzz" -- your character's first name or your alias online would do fine. When you make your accounts, make sure you change your display name to your character's first and last name (middle is optional) in LOWERCASE letters. Read the rest of these rules before you do anything else -- please, if you're making reservations, follow the directions in the thread, it makes our lives easier as staffers. Don't post incomplete applications, even if they have WIP in them -- read the headers in the tryout boards, gosh.
POSTING ,
If you make a regular character (i.e., not involved in a band) then you have two weeks (fourteen days) to make an in character reply in a thread after being accepted before you are deleted. I.E., don't thread, you will be deleted. Remember that instant messages and text messages do not count! It must be a regular, 600+ word reply. Threading is more important than plotting!!
PLAY-BYS AND RP-ING ,
Your play-by can't be older than 27. Sorry, but this is high school and college; you have to look the part. If you want your character to fit in and not be ignored, pick a play-by that actually fits into the site concept. Oh oh, and 'asparagus' is the word you should put in your application under 'secret phrase'. You can not have more than one character in each band; its hard to roleplay with yourself, ya know? Oh, and do NOT use a Disney person as a play by. We'll have to hunt you down. And obviously, no Gary-Stus or Mary-Sues! Seriously. People have flaws. Get with the program.
WORD LIMIT! Each of your posts must have at least 600 WORDS (with the small exceptions being in like, IM threads and such). Remember, the more you write, the more the person can reply to, which means the more you can reply to... etc.
ALL ABOUT PLOTTING ,
DON'T TRY TO AUTO PLOT. This is a big annoyance that we've encountered a lot. Just because you go to the same school and live in the same town doesn't mean that you know each other -- high schools are big, and colleges are even bigger. So yeah, you may know someone by name but you can't pin yourself as a friend unless you build a foundation and have a history. Also, when you're plotting and if you wanna change something, make sure all parties involved are informed! There's nothing worse than to be out of the loop on something that is already happening/going to happen when you had no idea. Talk to that person/people and make sure your plots okay, k? Don't plot with the same people over and over again; other people are awesome too, you know. (Well, some people aren't as awesome...anyway...) There's this thing called diversity; it's kind of awesome.
Also, another biggie: Plotting doesn't count as roleplaying. Just because you plan to have something happen doesn't mean it will! Plotting isn't binding, it's just a structural thing to get your character established with the people around him/her. React the way he/she would react at the moment of your event, don't think too far ahead. The only things that actually happen are things in the past (which you can roleplay out in the past & future board...hint hint) or the things that you make happen!
YOU SHOULD ALL KNOW BY NOW ,
Don't god-mod -- that's a definite no-no! If you have permission from someone to control their character for a brief second, that's okay, but other than that, no! Be literate, description is key so do that! Spell check is your best friend. This board is rated M for mature; if you can't handle things that actually happen in high school and college (i.e., sex, drugs, alcohol, etc), then don't bother applying; just GTFO! Threads that are going to be graphic and touching on these subjects should be marked at the beginning of the thread title with an [M] or something of the sort that warns the reader. While we're on the note of maturity, we're okay with swearing and stuff, just don't be excessive in doing that. Silliness is okay, but make sure you keep yourself sane enough so we don't think you're really really crazy.
WHAT NOT TO DO ,
Don't be fucking annoying. Seriously. We don't like annoying people. Don't pester people to post or the admins to accept your application on the c-box, through PM, or any other means. We have lives too. If you don't follow these rules, Ava will go nuts and you'll get hit in the face with a frying pan. OH, and by the way, 'box' is the actual secret phrase. Now if you put THAT in your application, we know you've ACTUALLY read the rules. (Yeah, we're mean, but reading the first two parts of the rules does not equate to reading it all D: )
Drama. We all have experienced it. But we do not want it here. On our sister site, RELAPSE (found in the right sidebar if you're really curious), there was way too much drama and bitching and epic failing both in-character and out-of-character that made the admins annoyed and left without desire to continue playing the characters that they were building up foundations for. Here at Weightless, we will not tolerate it. Sure, not everyone's a nice person or character, but please, don't be immature. If you have an attitude, turn around and leave now. We exist to be a fun place to roleplay at and frankly, the staffers won't waste their time dealing with stupid people who can't get a grip -- we won't hesitate to ban or delete you if you're becoming too much.
IN AND OUT-OF-CHARACTER C-BOX ,
Follow the rules listed above the c-box itself, that's what they're there for. But restating it here, there is to be absolutely no spamming, advertising, or impersonating other members or characters in either one of our c-boxes. Having a public chatbox is a privelege -- don't make us take it away from you. We don't want to have to ban people or hide it from guests, just in case peple have questions, but if we're forced to, we will. So be good and we'll get along just fine -- if you waste Ava's time by forcing her to log onto the c-box panel to ban you and your shit, she'll be mad. Reiterating from above in What Not To Do, DON'T BE ANNOYING. No pestering. Also, bitching in the c-box is a big no no. be nice please, and don't complain about your life; we honestly don't really care that much.
CONCERNING CHARACTERS ,
If you want fifty zillion characters, that's fine; make sure they're all on separate accounts and that you can manage them all. However, you must wait one week in between making each new character, unless you're given special permission from an administrator. Addionally, you must make at least 3 in-character posts with your first character before getting your second. If you are so anxious to roleplay more, make more threads! Wait until you know you can handle another character before you make another one, seriously. We don't want to have to make a character limit; but if you keep making new ones and already can't handle or don't even use the ones you have, we'll ask you to stop or we'll just delete some.
ICONS AND SIGNATURES ,
When it comes to graphics; HAVE THEM. You must have an avatar (size-wise they can go up to 100x175) AND a signature. Regardless if you use a straight signature or image panels, the combined width should not exceed 500 pixels, and the height shouldn't be too far off either. If anything in your signature stretches the board, it will be removed. If you can't make graphics for yourself, there's a place to request them, so you have no excuses!
RANDOM FROM THE STAFF ,
AVA SAYS :: HAIIII, thanks for joining!
TATI SAYS ::Use Jac Vanek, Kiki Kannibal, or Audrey Kitching, and Tatiana & her characters will HATE YOU. Just warning. D:<
WELCOME ,
So yes, that's a wrap with the rules! Thanks for joining we hope you have fun and enjoy roleplaying! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask one of us -- promise, we don't bite!
